AVID, short for Advancement Via Individual Determination is a College Preparation System that closes the achievement, expectation, and opportunity gaps many students face. The AVID elective offers an academic elective class targeting students in the academic middle that have the desire to go to college and the willingness to work hard.

Rotary Students of the Month - September
 
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
For the month of September Aiden Regan has been chosen as the May Rotary Student of the Month for Lakeville North High School. Aiden’s parents are Kevin & Carla Regan.  Aiden’s Dean is Cary Zahn. 
 
Aiden was chosen due to his involvement in school activities as well as having a high GPA (4.43) and currently ranking number 3 in the class of 457.
 
Aiden is a member of the National Honor Society and he is currently the Vice President.  Aiden was a Junior Class Office is currently a Senior Class Officer.  He is the Captain of the Cross-Country team as well as the Track & Field Captain.  Aiden was a MN State High School League ExCEL Award nominee.  He was also a Senior Patrol Leader of a Boy Scout Troop.
 
Lakeville South High School will recognize Devin Prow as the Lakeville South High School Rotary Student of the Month for September.  Devin’s parents are Marty and Kathleen Prow and his Dean is John Boche.
 
He is truly an outstanding young man with an extremely bright future.  He has an amazing resume including:
-         Mission Trip to Honduras working with children in an Orphanage
-         4.54 GPA
-         Class rank 1of 445
-         35 ACT
-         15 Advance Placement courses
-         AP Scholar
-         Track and Field participant
-         Soccer participant
-         National Honor Society

-         Faith Club

-         Selected for Boys State
-         Youth soccer coaching volunteer
Devin plans on pursuing a degree in Business, Political Science, or Biomed while attending a prestigious university.  He is one of the nicest, hardworking, well respected students at Lakeville South High School.

Lakeville Rotarians had fun making Tie-Blanket's this past weekend at Reina's in Lakeville. The blankets will be donated to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
