BLOOD DRIVE

Lakeville Rotary Club is partnering with Lakeville Liquors to host a blood drive on January 12. This is another "service above self" opportunity, where our club has reached out to another community organization to help us.  As you know, the blood supply is still critically low.  Donating with Memorial Blood Centers assures your donation will be used for someone in Minnesota.

Please help make this drive a success by donating or volunteering to help.

         Date:  Wednesday, January 12, 2022

         Time:  9:00 - 5:00

         Location: Lakeville Liquor - Keokuk
                          20880 Keokuk Ave

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mike Cooper at Mcoop52317@gmail.com

If you can't make the Jan 12th date, consider donating with the Merchants Bank Blood Drive this Wednesday, Dec 1st.

NOVEMBER 2021
ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”.

For the month of November Jacob Welch has been chosen as the November Rotary Students of the Month for Lakeville South High School.

Jacob’s parents are Catherine Welch and William Welch III, and his Dean is Paul Donner.  Jacob’s resume is very impressive. Over the course of his academic career, Jacob has taken numerous AP courses and Honors Courses. He has met the requirements to participate in our National Honors Society.  He qualified as a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.  Jacob competes in Alpine Skiing and he serves our band program as a Drum Major.  Regardless of how many things Jacob has on his plate, he has managed to maintain an extremely high GPA, which will allow him to be accepted into most any college.

Dean Donor said, "While working with Jacob at LSHS, I have been most impressed with his ability to provide service above self, no matter how busy he is.  I routinely see him at events, supporting his peers, leading our band, and even supporting our staff.  He finds time to volunteer for his church and to teach youth at band camps.   Whatever the activity or cause, Jacob commits his time with a positive attitude and naturally leads his peers."

Lakeville North has chosen Sophia Lundrigan as November Rotary Student of the Month. Sophia’s parents are Elizabeth & John Lundrigan and her Dean is Cary Zahn. Sophia was chosen for her high academic achievements at Lakeville North High School. She is currently ranked number 2 in her class of 452, with a 4.35 GPA. She is an AP Honors student of Distinction. She is a member of National Honor Society.

Sophia is involved at Lakeville North High School as a member of the Fall & Winter Dance Team. She is a Panther Prep member, and a member of Student Council. She is a Peer Tutor and a member of the High School Faith Club.

Outside of Lakeville North High School, Sophia is a dancer at Ballet Royal, has been at Studio 4, South Metro Dance Center. She is trained in jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary. She is a member of the Hosanna High School ministry.  Sophia volunteers at the Dakota County Library, Feed My Starving Children, at the ISD 194 Dance Clinic. She also volunteers for an Independent Community Book
Drive, an Independent In-Home Bible Study. Sophia’s work experience is as a summer nanny and a host, busser at Lakeville Brewing Company.
