How this works: We have been asked to help by Roc Solid Foundation - https://rocsolidfoundation.org/what-we-do/playsets/ - Roc Solid’s Play It Forward initiative builds custom playsets in the backyards of kids fighting cancer.
A typical playset build is from 8am-1pm. At 8:30am Roc Solid Team will send the family off in a limo for breakfast and an activity of their choice and we get to work on building the playset! The family arrives back home at 12:30pm for the big reveal and a pizza party!

Jay Young presented Krista Jech, Lakeville Chamber, and Cindy Nolan, Lakeville North High School, with a $5,000 grant from the Lakeville Foundation Legacy Fund for Lakeville Chambers "Lakeville Works" program. The program focuses on assisting employers fill vacated positions, retain employees, train workers and educate adults and students about alternative working options.
The initiatives goal is to inform high school students about other possible carer paths that are available to them right after high school.
Just a few weeks into football practice Brian Vossen took some time to talk to Lakeville Rotary Club about coaching and Lakeville North defending their Class 6A state championship.
Vossen, shared some personal history of his own on how he was that relentless kid that learned to make a change.
His tips for kids starting college:
Visit professors once a week
Schedule breaks for studying
Go to class
Sit in front
Tenacious
Vossen, shared the meaning of “NorthOrNorthing” which was started when he asked linebacker Mitch Johnson for his email, which was NorthOrNothing. Which Mitch explained was North or None. This simple statement started the saying that Lakeville North’s football program and the high school in general, has used for years.
Vossen, shared that The Panthers have eight principles that players sport on the backs of shirts: legacy, tenacity, relentlessness, resilience, character, loyalty, respect and desire and each year they create t-shirts for the players with one of principles. Those are the characteristics Vossen and his coaches believe make a successful person and football player.
