He learned that in all the countries that he visited that there are a lot of “Good People trying to do Good Things.” He shared some of his experiences working with the communities and doing a needs assessment to see how we can work together to get things done. Rotarians “People of Actions” where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. Paul noticed that some of Thailand’s needs center around water and clean sanitation an area that Rotary can assist in helping. Paul shared that relief work is like peeling back an onion one problem and one solution at a time. That while talking and working with the children and hearing their stories you realize that some of these children are not where they want to be; sometimes it’s due to lack of education or being trafficked. He reminded us that “When you peel back the onion you start seeing things a little differently.”
