DECEMBER 2016 ROTARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
 
Each month of the school year, the Lakeville Rotary Club recognizes students of the senior class who demonstrate “Service Above Self”. 
 
For the month of November Lakeville North High School has chosen Nathan Reuvers for the December Rotary Student of the Month.  Nathan’s parents are Paul & Teresa Reuvers and his Dean is Cary Zahn.  Nathan has many attributes and is very serious about his education.  He has a high GPA and is currently ranked number 20 in a class of 430 seniors.  He is an AP scholar, honor student and has won several scholastic awards in Math and Spanish.  He hopes to major in Business/Finance in college and play men’s college basketball.
 
Besides being one of the best basketball players at Lakeville North, Nathan has played boys soccer, he has been a member of the concert band, is a member of the National Honor Society, a peer tutor, a DECA member, and a member of FCA.   Outside of Lakeville North High School, Nathan is involved in scouting.  He has volunteered his time to Feed My Starving Children, a youth coach, referee basketball and help others at his church.  
 
A special note, Nathan has been the fifth child of the Reuvers family to be chosen as the Rotary Student of the Month.

For the month of December Harmony J. Zweber-Langer has been chosen for the Rotary Student of the Month from Lakeville South High School.
 
Harmony is an outstanding student/athlete at LSHS.  She has demonstrated she is college ready by maintaining a GPA of 4.2, and successfully completing many college level or prep courses, such as AP Language, AP World History and AP Psychology, and AP Calculus.  She continues to challenge herself her senior year by selecting courses such as AP Literature, AP Calculus BC, and AP Psychology. She plans to earn a degree in college that is connected to Mathematics and Law.
 
Some activities Harmony participates in are Nordic Skiing, Cross Country and Track at Lakeville South. She served her teams as a captain the past two years, selected by her peers.
 
Harmony consistently demonstrates Service about Self through National Honor Society, 4-H and through her Church. She participates in 4-H where she is an award winner.  She is our
4-H Ambassador and Club President. She is President of our NHS.   During her free time, she volunteers to coordinate Relay For Life and she volunteers as an Altar Leader at her church.
