Ken Wentworth introduced Karen Wentworth, Business Mentor Lakeville South Robotics Team. Karen introduced Jason Just, Science teacher at Lakeville South who is charged with finding the adults and mentors to help with the team.
 
Lakeville Robotics team was founded in 2008 and is part of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)www.firstinspires.org  -  based in Manchester, NH, FIRST is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designed to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology, and to motivate them to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM fields.
 
The Robotics team showed us firsthand how they work together to accomplish their challenge course. They work within a six-week build season that started Jan 9, 2016. The team works together to design, test, and create a prototype of a robot for the competition and by midnight of the 6th week the robot needs to be placed in a sealed bag and signed off; the cost, $2,000 for each robot.
